Step Into Spring with the Livonia Cross Country Team!

An inaugural, community fun run to benefit the Livonia Central School Cross Country Team.
The Varsity Cross Country team hopes to travel North this fall to compete in the Cadyville invitational near Plattsburgh NY. The team will be hosting the first ever "Step Into Spring" 5k and youth mile/community walk on Sunday, May 3rd, 2020 to help raise money. All proceeds from the 5k will help offset the cost of the trip for the athletes; we hope you can join us!

Join us for a 5K off-road fun run for ages 13 and older and a 1-mile fun run for children 12 and younger.  Children in the 1-mile fun run may be accompanied by an adult (strollers allowed).

Start/Finish:

Both the 1 mile and 5k fun run will start and finish at Livonia Middle/High School.  The start time for the 1-mile event is 11:30 am and the 5K will begin immediately following at approximately Noon.

Cost:
  • Youth mile:  Donations to Livonia Varsity Cross Country accepted (no registration fee)
  • 5k:  $20 entry fee; if you register online by April 1st then you get a t-shirt!
Registration and Packet Pickup:

Online registration will be available from February 1, 2020 through 5:00 pm on May 2, 2020.  We will accept paper registrations until 11:15 am on the day of the race.  Race day registrations must be paid for with a paper check made payable to Livonia Central School for the exact amount of $20 (5K) or donation (1mi). 

Packet pickup will take place on the track near the concession stand from 10:00AM until 11:15 am.  Packet pickup consists of attendance/check-in and getting your t-shirt, if applicable.

Your $20 registration fee for the 5K event includes a short-sleeve t-shirt if you register by April 1, 2020.
There is no cost for the 1-mile fun run/walk, but donations will be accepted at the time of registration.

There will be a very limited supply of t-shirts available for purchase during packet pickup. 

Other information:

  • If you are eligible for a free shirt (because you registered for the 5K before April 1st) then you can pick it up the day of the event during packet pickup.
  • The youth mile/community walk is for everyone. Only kids 12 and under can “compete” and receive a timing slip or recognition at the finish line, but parents/family members are welcome to run/walk with their children if they wish.
  • A very limited amount of shirts will be available for purchase the day of the event. 

Course Maps:
  • 1-mile 
  • 5K
  • Aid stations include a refilling water station at approximately the 1.5 mile mark of the 5K (bring your own bottle).
  • Post race refreshments will be provided:  apples, bananas, and a water filling station (bring your own bottle).

Timing:

This is a fun run!  Both events will have an informal timing system where runners will be given a timing slip to record their time at the finish.  The youth mile/community walk is for everyone. Only kids 12 and under can “compete” and receive a timing slip or recognition at the finish line, but parents/family members are welcome to run/walk with their children if they wish. 

Strollers are allowed in the 1-mile event.    Walkers and strollers should line up behind the runners in both events.

Rules:

  • You must be in good health and physically prepared to take on the challenges of your race. All participants must sign the waiver during the registration process. 
  • Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE.  Paper checks must be received by the Livonia Central School Business Office by Noon on Friday, May 2, 2020 in order for the registration to be processed.   Online payment is encouraged and preferred.
  • A parent’s signature is required for all participants under 18 years old.
  • Dogs, in-line skates, skateboards, motorized scooters, bikes, will not be allowed on the course.
  • For safety reasons, we strongly recommend against the use of iPods, MP3 players or headphones of any type.
  • All runners must stay on the course for safety.
